The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 23 parole hearings on Aug. 7, one of which involved a Chilton County offender.

Nelson is currently serving an 81-month sentence for a Receiving Stolen Property arrest on April 4. He is also serving concurrent 81-month sentences for Receiving Stolen Property and Theft of Property First Degree charges on the same day.
Nelson has currently served four months and 14 days of his sentence with 135 days of good time received included. He has a minimum release date of Nov. 12, 2025.
