• While UAB ranked 13th-worst in FBS in total defense with 435 yards allowed per game last season, it was a different situation on the other side of the ball, as it ranked 18th-best in FBS (449.5 yards per game).
• Despite sporting a bottom-25 scoring defense that ranked fourth-worst in FBS last season (36.9 points allowed per game), the Blazers played better on offense, ranking 51st in FBS by totaling 29.9 points per game.
• Offensively, UAB was a top-25 unit in terms of passing yards last season, ranking 18th-best in FBS by totaling 288.9 passing yards per game. It ranked 89th on defense (237.9 passing yards allowed per game).
• The Blazers sported the 63rd-ranked rushing offense last season (160.6 rushing yards per game), and they were less effective on defense, ranking eighth-worst with 197.1 rushing yards allowed per game.

UAB’s Top Players (2023)

• Jacob Zeno racked up 3,126 passing yards (260.5 per game) with a 73.6% completion percentage last season, while throwing for 20 touchdowns with nine interceptions. He added 168 rushing yards on 91 carries with four touchdowns.
• Jermaine Brown Jr. rushed for 803 yards on 158 carries (66.9 yards per game) and scored 12 touchdowns a season ago. He also averaged 34.7 receiving yards per game, grabbing 41 passes for 416 yards and one TD.
• Last year Tejhaun Palmer hauled in 47 passes for 858 yards (71.5 per game) and scored seven touchdowns.
• Desmond Little boasted an impressive stat line of 6.0 sacks, 5.0 TFL and 30 tackles last year.
