• In terms of toughness, based on their opponents’ combined win total last season, the Minutemen will be playing the 33rd-ranked schedule this year.
• In terms of toughness — and using its opponents’ projected win total this season — UMass will be playing the 46th-ranked schedule this year.
• UMass has a schedule that features seven games in 2024 against teams with winning records in 2023 (five of those teams won nine or more games and two of them accumulated less than four wins).

• With 427 yards allowed per game on defense, which ranked 17th-worst in FBS, the Minutemen had to rely on their 88th-ranked offense (356.3 yards per contest) to keep them in games last season.
• With 37.8 points allowed per game on defense, which ranked worst in FBS last season, UMass had to lean on its 96th-ranked offense (23.2 points per contest) to keep it in games.
