The Chilton County Master Gardeners will be starting its own monthly editorial piece in next week’s newspaper that will help grow the green thumbs around the county.

The program will feature in The Clanton Advertiser once per month with a piece that will include a number of different things from informative tips, answering questions from the community and more. The program is hoping the new editorial will drum up more participation in the program, and also let the community know who they are and what the master gardeners do. While there are talks to include more than one editorial per month eventually, the plan is to have it once a month.

“We want to inform the community and just get our stuff out there to those who are interested,” Sharon Hosch, a member of the Chilton County Master Gardeners program, said. “With the fall coming up, if would be a good time to get stuff out there to people getting back into their gardens.”

The group plans to have different writers and contributors participate in the monthly editorial piece, and hopes to have more community interaction with it established in the newspaper this fall.
