Parole denied for Chilton County offender

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 20 parole hearings on June 26, one of which involved a Chilton County offender.
Stephen Jeffrey Austin was denied parole by the board and received no reset date, and no one spoke in favor or against Austin being granted parole during the hearing.
Austin is currently serving a 20-year sentence for a Burglary II arrest in Tuscaloosa County on October 11, 2012. He is also serving four concurrent sentences for arrests in Tuscaloosa County for Impersonating a Police Officer, Extortion II and two other Burglary II arrests on the same day. Also, Austin is serving a concurrent sentence of 24-months for a Theft of Property III arrest in Chilton County on May 17, 2022.
Austin has currently served 18 years, five months and 11 days of the 20-year sentence with 2,511 days of jail credit included. Austin’s minimum release date is January 16, 2026.
