Verbena and Thorsby high schools will play in the first rounds of their respective tournaments on Feb. 2 to open play in the Chilton County area. The Rebels take on Fayetteville High school, while the Red Devils face Notasulga High School. If Thorsby wins, they will play Isabella in the semifinals, and if Verbena wins it will face Billingsley in the semifinals, both games with sub-regional berths on the line. Maplesville plays in the other semifinal of the AHSAA Class 1A Area 7 Basketball Tournament against Loachapoka High School.
