Three Billingsley High School FFA students received grants to further expand their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects. Caleb Hornady, Hudson Manning and Tanner Truesdale were the beneficiaries of the grants that will help fund their respective projects.
SAE projects are a requirement that all FFA members must complete during high school.
“An SAE requires FFA members to create and operate an agriculture related business, work at an agriculture-related business or conduct an agricultural research experience,” a press release from Billingsley FFA Advisor Logan Strock said. “Upon completion, FFA members must submit a comprehensive report regarding their career development experience.”
Hornady and Truesdale each received a $1,000 Goat Production SAE grant, Hornady’s awarded by Cencora Impact Foundation and Truesdale’s by Domino’s. Manning was awarded a $1,000 Beef Production SAE grant by Domino’s.
Twenty-nine different sponsors helped fund SAE grants, and the three student’s applications were selected from among 1,258 applications from FFA students nationwide.
