Wreck takes life of Jemison man

MONTGOMERY POST – A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, has claimed the life of a Jemison man. Mariano V. Rico, 57, was fatally injured when the 2003 Chevrolet Impala he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. Rico was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash occurred on U.S. 31 near the 235 mile marker, approximately one mile south of Jemison, in Chilton County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
