Two inmates denied parole with Chilton ties

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles denied two offenders’ parole on Nov. 1 that had charges stemming from arrests in Chilton County.
Ricky Allen Carpenter Jr. was denied parole by the board with no reset date. No one spoke in favor of Carpenter receiving or being denied parole during the hearing. Carpenter a 12-year sentence for an Assault II arrest on April 27, 2023.
Alexis Briana Ward was denied parole with no reset date by the board as well. Dinah Lewis, Ward’s aunt, spoke in favor of her receiving parole, and Nayla Contreras of the Attorney General’s office spoke against Ward receiving parole. Ward is currently serving a 10-year sentence for a Assault II arrest on June 23, 2022.
