The Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles issued parole hearing decisions for multiple inmates on June 6, two of whom were convicted in Chilton County. Gary Lee Meadows and William Larry Moore had their parole decisions handed down during the hearing.

Meadows, who was serving a 48-month sentence for possession of a controlled substance-class D and was sentenced on Dec. 7 of last year, was granted parole during the June 6 hearing. Meadows also was serving a 12-month sentence for a controlled substance-class D violation from Tuscaloosa County.

Meadows’ brother, Terry Meadows, and Nell Duncan, Meadows’ mother, both spoke in favor of him receiving parole. The board voted to grant Meadows parole, however, he is to complete the Tuscaloosa Day Reporting Center Drug Assessment and wear a GPS ankle monitor.

Moore, who is serving a 15-year concurrent sentence for possession of a pistol by a felon in Chilton County, had his niece, Nicole Ward, speak in favor of parole being granted. Doris Hancock and Jackie Fowler of the attorney general’s office spoke against parole being granted. Moore was denied parole with no reset date.
