Vera Nell Cleckley, 90, of Clanton, Alabama passed away January 18, 2023, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

She was born March 1, 1932 in Alabama, daughter of the late Albert Thompson and the late Gracie Thompson.

She was a clerk with City Hall.

Surviving are her granddaughter Michelle (Steve) Patterson; granddaughter Belinda Hammock; four great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren, brother Howard Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her father Albert E. Thompson; mother Gracie Thompson; husband Elbert Cleckley; son Edwin Eugene Cleckley; grandson-in-law, David Hammock; sister Eunice Headley; brother James Thompson; sister Myrtice Burnette.

Friends will be received Monday, January 23, 2023, 10-11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Monday, January 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Thurmon Clecker officiating.

Interment will follow in Pinedale Assembly of God Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
