Ellison Memorial Funeral Home in Clanton has announced a comprehensive renovation and the construction of an addition to the Clanton facility. Located at 1709, Lay Dam Road in Clanton, Ellison Memorial Funeral Home has been in business since Nov. 15, 2012.
“This is the largest renovation and construction project we’ve engaged in during our 12 years of operation,” Ellison said. “This is a direct result of the level of confidence our community has placed in us to well-memorialize its loved one. I believe the community knows we are always here when it needs us.”
The renovation will include public areas of the existing building, providing both indoor and outdoor “life event” areas, new arrangement suites for both burial and cremation families, new product selection areas, as well as new office space for Chilton Memorial Gardens.
The new addition will include Chilton County’s first crematory, something Ellison is excited to bring to the area.
“With this state-of-the-art crematory, we can now guarantee that someone entrusted to our care will remain completely in our care throughout the process,” Ellison explained. “That level of care is of the utmost importance to us. And we’re pleased to bring this facility, the first of its kind in our area, to those whom entrust the cremation of their loved ones to us.”
“To say we are excited is an understatement,” Ellison added. “We have grown so much during the last few years as more and more people have trusted us to provide dignified, compassionate, and affordable care to them during their time of bereavement. This renovation and addition will simply enhance our ability to continue providing a high level of service for generations to come.
Construction is expected to begin in mid-January and is expected to be complete sometime late summer. Ellison also noted that the construction process has been structured, so the funeral home will continue to be able to serve families in their hour of need.
“I look forward to presenting this practically brand-new facility to the community upon its completion,” Ellison stated.
