Gardens of Clanton celebrates Assisted Living Week

The Gardens of Clanton kicked off National Assisted Living Week on Sept. 11 with a theme of “Joyful Moments.”
The Peach, Chilton County and Blackberry queens came to be a part of the celebration. Since Sept. 11 was also National Grandparent’s Day, all the residents’ grandchildren and families came out to celebrate them. A moment of silence in honor of all the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001 was also held.
Day two was joyful moments at the Gardens specifically when they first moved into the Gardens and their favorite moments since. Amy Nelson played and sang several hymns. Lunch was catered by the YMCA. Later that afternoon, Sadie Smith and her horse stopped by. Day three celebrated residents’ wedding/marriages, featuring DJ Rhino. Attendees danced their hearts out. A delicious lunch was catered by Main Street Cafe, and wedding cupcakes were from Lala’s Cakes and Events. Brother Jeremy Jones from Beth Salem Baptist Church came out led wonderful devotional. Day four was a Fiesta Day in appreciation for all of the wonderful staff. Lunch was provided by Three Amigos Mexican Restaurant. On Day five, showed their team spirit for their favorite sports teams.
