The driver of a vehicle that failed to yield to a train has been airlifted to UAB Hospital for medical attention.
Clanton Police Assistant Chief David Clackley said the driver was an elderly female, and the vehicle was damaged to the point that she had to be partially extracted from the car.
“She had injuries, but they did not seem life threatening at the scene,” Clackley said.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Logan Road. Police and medical emergency responders were at the scene.
