UPDATE: Information from the 19th Judicial Circuit Attorney’s Office has confirmed that the grand jury found no criminal activity related to this case.

On Wednesday, Feb. 9, at the request of the Chilton County Sheriff’s Office, Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) launched an in-custody death investigation at the Chilton County Jail located in Clanton. The victim has been identified as Stacey Taylor, 50, of Clanton.

Nothing further is available as the investigation is ongoing. Once complete, findings will be turned over to the Chilton County District Attorney’s Office.
