Weaver in lead for Senate seat

With two out of three counties reporting, April Weaver has a resounding lead in the Special General election for District 14.
Chilton and Bibb counties have reported 100% of the votes to the Alabama Secretary of State.. However, data from Shelby County is unavailable.
The election was held to fill the seat after Sen. Cam Ward was appointed to director of the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles by Gov. Kay Ivey.
Statewide, Weaver has received 90.19 % (2,841) of the votes. Democratic candidate Virginia Teague Appelbaum has received 9.78% (308).
In Chilton County, Weaver received 93.47% of the vote and Appelbaum received 6.46%
