Apollo’s B.O.W. Foundation awarded a $2,000 Scholarship to Mapelsville High School graduate Alexis Bradley on Honors Day.

Bradley said she is very thankful for the scholarship as she plans to pursue a Physical Therapy degree, and she would like to thank God, her family, and the foundation for the opportunity.

As a 2012 MHS and subsequent 2016 Auburn University graduate, Apollos Abercrombie started the Apollo’s B.O.W. Foundation this year, as a nonprofit organization to help students from our small town communities get access to scholarships, mentorship. and resources they need to go to college.

The inspiration for the name and logo is, In Greek mythology, Apollo had a special bow he would use in his war against the titans. So, B.O.W., is an acronym that stands for Bridging Opportunities Worldwide.

Because, we encourage our students to shoot for the stars.

Since its founding in January, our foundation has partnered with Auburn University for an Apollos Abercrombie Overcoming Adversity $1,000 scholarship for the next four years and Florida State’s C.A.R.E.S Program to mentor first generation college students.

“I would like to personally thank my scholarship selection committee, my family, mentors, and all those who graciously donated to the foundation,” Abercrombie said.
