The Clanton City Council paid timely bills in an especially short voting session on Dec. 29.
These included the first payment of $43,309.95 to CB&A Construction LLC for the Kincheon Road project and payment of $22,317 to Matter Management for hauling trash.
There was no old or new business discussed during the four-minute meeting.
In a work session held prior to the voting session, the possibility of leasing out a building owned by the city was also discussed as something to think about for the future.
Council member Mary Mell Smith asked for an update on the grant the city had received to tear down dilapidated buildings. Mayor Jeff Mims said paperwork was being done in order to move forward with the process.
Clanton City Hall will be closed on Jan. 1.
The next voting meeting of the Clanton Council is scheduled for Jan. 11 with a work session scheduled for Jan. 7.
