The Thorsby Rebels are no longer undefeated following a heart-breaking 34-26 loss on the road against Reeltown.

Both teams proved to be evenly matched and traded shots throughout the game.

The Rebels took their opening possession and drove 70 yards down the field for a touchdown and the early 6-0.

Reeltown answered toward the tail end of the period and carried a 7-6 lead into the second quarter.

Thorsby trailed 14-6 at halftime. The Rebels committed nine penalties in the first half, with many of them negating big plays and possible trips to the red zone.

The start of the second half was the same as to open the game with another 70-yard scoring drive by Thorsby.

However, the Rebels once again failed to convert the two-point conversion and trailed 14-12.

It was the defense that was next to make an impact with a fumble recovery that resulted in Fortner’s second touchdown run of the night to put the Rebels back on top 18-14.

Thorsby’s offense was not done, as Fortner hooked up with Tucker Patterson on a 40-yard touchdown through the air that gave the Rebels a 26-21 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Unfortunately for Thorsby, Reeltown controlled the final quarter and outscored the Rebels 13-0 to grab the lead and hold on during that stretch.

It was the first loss of the season for Thorsby, who dropped to an overall record of 6-1 and 3-1 in Region 4-2A.
