North Chilton is hosting a 2018 Political Candidate Town Hall Meeting on May 14 at Jemison City Hall, beginning at 6 p.m.
Diane Calloway, the principal of Jemison High School, organized the event after numerous north Chilton residents expressed their desire for such a meeting.
Calloway said her biggest hope for the event is “to be able to see politically how each candidate stands on issues that are important to the community.”
The meeting will offer an open microphone for community members to ask candidates questions.
“We will also have an opportunity for them to handwrite a question,” Calloway said.
These questions can be submitted upon arrival.
Sandwiches, chips, drinks and desserts will be available for purchase to hungry participants.
Lined up for the meeting are candidates running for the following offices: Alabama State House Representative, Sheriff, Probate Judge, Board of Education and Coroner.
