The Thorsby Rebels have yet to lose a game through two rounds of the state baseball playoffs.

Thorsby defeated Fayetteville 14-0 and 7-4 on the road during second round action on April 27.

Fayetteville managed just five hits in the two games combined, and Trent Jones was a major reason why.

He pitched a complete game shutout in Game 1 and allowed only one hit and one walk while striking out five during the contest.

It was a committee effort in Game 2 with Tucker Patterson getting the start and pitching four innings before Cain Niece and Grayson Bice provided relief in the final three innings.

Niece picked up the win in Game 2, while Bice earned the save.

Every Thorsby batter reached base at some point during the two games, led by Jacob Lockhart who went 6-for-7 with a walk at the plate.

Tyler Jackson had three RBIs in Game 1 and Jones followed it up by driving in three of his own in Game 2.

Late runs helped the Rebels put the game out of reach on both occasions.

Thorsby led by one run [in Game 1] and trailed by one [in Game 2] after four innings before exploding for a combined 18 runs in the final three innings during the second round.

The Rebels are the last baseball team from Chilton County in the postseason.

Thorsby will host Falkville in the third round on May 3 at 4:30 p.m. The winner will advance to the state semifinals.
