Thorsby’s softball team is on a roll at the right time.
The Rebels ended the regular season with a 2-1 win over Homewood on April 24, and then advanced out of their area tournament on Monday.
Thorsby will compete in a regional tournament May 7-9 at Sokal Field in Tuscaloosa, with a first game scheduled for May 7 at 11:30 a.m.
The top two teams in the double elimination tournament advance to the state tournament, to be played May 11-13 at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.
Against Homewood, the Rebels scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the third inning on a home run by Lilly Barnett.
THS scored in the first inning when Taylor McManus drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second base when Ashlyn Chancellor was hit by a pitch, advanced to third when Irelan Childress was hit by a pitch and scored when Barnett was hit by a pitch.
Thorsby pitcher Addie Niamon made the two runs stand up, as she scattered five hits and one walk while striking out one.
