Elsie Mae Payton Griffin, 85, of Clanton, passed away on Sept. 25 at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.
She was born on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 1927, in Jefferson County, the daughter of the late F.C. Payton and the late Dora Smith Payton.
She was a pharmacy clerk.
Surviving are her sons, Jimmy Griffin (Anita) of Clanton; Dale Griffin (Evangeline) of Clanton; daughter-in-law, June Baker of Dadeville; grandchildren, Donna Vines (Tommy), Vikki Davis (Tommy), Cindy Simpson (Scott), Neil Griffin (Laura Turner), Chris Griffin (Heather); Mahlea Griffin; great-grandchildren, Alexis Griffin, Kristen Jessica Vines, Griffin and Brynlee Davis, Devin and Daylyn Griffin.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Griffin and grandson, David Griffin.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m.- noon on Sept. 28 at Maple Springs Baptist Church.
Services will be held on Sept. 28 at noon at Maple Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Donovan officiating.
Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Maples Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
