James H. “Chick” Mims, 66, of Clanton, passed away on Sept. 15 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Feb. 1, 1947 in Chilton County, the son of the late James Edgar Mims and the late Lucille Cox Mims.

He was in produce sales.

Surviving are his son, Justin Mims (Lindsey) of Jemison; granddaughters, Gracie Mims of Jemison, Josie Mims of Jemison and Lizzie Mims of Jemison; special friend, Lois Miller of Clanton.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. on Sept. 17 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held on Sept. 18 at 1 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tony Smitherman officiating.

Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton.
