Thorsby’s baseball team fell in to consecutive games at Sipsey Valley, 5-2 and 2-0, bringing an end to the Rebels’ season in the first round of the state playoffs.
In Game 1, Brantly Maddox allowed five runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out four batters.
Denham Childress was hit by a pitch in the first inning, advanced on a Matt Morgan double and then scored on a Tyler Owens sacrifice.
The Rebels didn’t score again until the top of the seventh, when Childress doubled, advanced on a passed ball and scored on a Matt Morgan single.
THS couldn’t find any offense in the second game, spoiling an effective start by Bo Hoffman, who allowed two runs on five hits and five walks in six innings while striking out five.
