Jemison won at West Blocton on Friday, 39-13.
The win improves the Panthers to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in Class 4A, Region 4 play.
JHS will find itself in no worse than second place in the region after Friday’s games. Dora is the only other unbeaten team in the region.
A blocked extra point by Joseph Hall sparked the Panthers.
Kevin King ran for the first of his four total touchdowns in the first quarter, but Blocton responded to tie the game with time winding down in the first.
Jemison scored on its opening drive of the second half–on a Keyshawn Jemison run–but again Blocton responded.
This time, however, Hall’s block saved the lead for the Panthers, who would pull away.
King rushed for two more touchdowns and accounted for another score on a pass from Jacob Hatch. King also recorded 14 tackles and had an interception.
King ran 12 times for 159 yards and caught two passes for 74 yards.
Hatch ran for Jemison’s other score.
JHS visits Corner next week.
