Ronald A. “Ronnie” Atchison, age 59, of Thorsby, passed away on March 25, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Maplesville on Oct. 22, 1952, the son of the late Miles Gilbert Atchison and the late Claudia Latham Atchison. Mr. Atchison was a truck driver.

He is survived by: brother, James Gilbert Atchison of Clanton; brother, Donald Wilbert Atchison of Verbena; and sister, Lena Louise Oates of Jemison; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home in Clanton.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 3 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene Atchison and the Rev. Willard Scott officiating. Burial followed in the Chilton Memorial Gardens in Clanton.
