Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richard Moore Jr., of Clanton, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Hays Moore, to Dr. Jonathan Ryan Humphreys, son of Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Gilbert Humphreys Jr., of Dothan.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Charles Richard Moore and the late Dr. Moore of Clanton and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Rufus Bealle of Tuscaloosa.  Miss Moore graduated from Chilton County High School in Clanton and received a Bachelor of Arts cum laude degree in art and art history from Vanderbilt University where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority.  She completed a Master of Architectural History from the University of Virginia School of Architecture and currently works as an architectural historian for the Center for Historic Preservation at Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tenn.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. William Shelley Parker, the late Mr. Parker and the late Mr. Lewis Gilbert Humphreys of Chattanooga, Tenn., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Rodger Harris Murphree of Birmingham.  Dr. Humphreys graduated from Houston Academy in Dothan and received a Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering and pre-medical studies from Auburn University Honors College where he was a member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity.  He received a medical degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine and is currently a general surgery resident at Vanderbilt University Medical Center serving as clinical director of the Out Patient Surgery Clinic at the Veterans Affairs Hospital of Nashville.

The wedding is planned for June at First Baptist Church in Clanton.
