Education: High School, some college

Personal message: I have been on the council for a while and I am running again to try to keep up our growth and continue our road improvement. We are also working on new businesses for the Interstate to come in and grow. We have grants pending with the state for road improvements, particularly County Road 44. I am a lifelong resident of Jemison. I would like see more businesses come into town

I served in the United States Marines. I am a veteran from Vietnam.

I married Doris Porter, and we have been married for 58 years.

 

Donna P. Manasco 

Political party: Republican

Age: 66

Education: Wallace State Community College (LPN degree), National Paramedic License, Computer classes at Herzing Institute, accounting classes at Wallace

Personal message:   I am a lifelong resident of Jemison, married to Earl Manasco. We have one son Jeff Manasco. I have worked in our family business which known to many as Porter’s Truck . I also worked as a Paramedic in Chilton county both on an ambulance and as a volunteer for over 30 yrs. where I held both supervisor and Rescue Chief positions. Although I have never held public office I think that I would be a good asset to the city of Jemison, because I love my city and community and would like to  present the people’s concerns to  the council. Let me be your voice!  I recently retired and would be honored to continue my community services as your representative on Jemison City Council District 1. I humbly ask for you vote on Aug. 25 at the Jemison City Hall.

Donnie Lane (Incumbent)

Age: 72

Education: High school (11^th)

Personal message: I have lived in Alabama for 49 years. I am from Virginia. I married a Jemison girl. I built the first Dollar General in Jemison. I’m of the Baptist faith and I love the Lord.

I’m running and I have been in for 10 years. I have never been elected I was appointed by the Mayor (then ran unopposed). Now I want to run for the next four years to help Jemison grow bigger than we are now. I would appreciate everybody’s vote.

Looking for a chance to serve my community and help the Town of Jemison to grow but keep the small town charm.

Personal message: I am thankful for the continued opportunity to serve my District of the City of Jemison. I have been proud to represent my neighbors to the City and Mayor; and I am humbled now to continue to be their choice of leadership for our community on the Jemison City Council. I enjoy this work and look forward to the opportunities to grow Jemison in a sensible, conservative way.  I want to preserve what is best of who we are and help us to grow into who we can be.

There are so many exciting opportunities coming up during this next term including the Alfa Center in the County which will change and challenge our economic growth in the City. Plans are already in the works to maximize the growth this brings to Jemison. There are other businesses planning to establish in Jemison which will provide jobs, convenience and revenue for us all. The Council continue to work on infrastructure needs in our community. All of these and many others are important issues for us today and in the days ahead.
