Gov. Kay Ivey extended the safer at home order that she put in place on July 16, which requires masks or some type of facial covering to be worn in public through the month of August.
The governor’s initial mask order was set to expire at the end of July, which led to it being amended and put on the books for another month.
According to Ivey, the statewide mask ordinance is an attempt by the to combat the positive cases of coronavirus in the state.
