Chilton County will once again have an official county champion following a decision to once again hold a county baseball tournament in 2021.

The tournament’s return will end a lengthy hiatus that is nearing a decade.

It is scheduled to be a three-day format on March 11-13, 2021.

“We would have liked to have scheduled this year, but baseball schedules were already in place,” Chilton County Schools Superintendent Jason Griffin said.

Names of county schools were drawn at random, with Maplesville High School selected as the host the first year back.

The following order of hosts will be Thorsby (2022), Verbena (2023), Chilton County (2024), Isabella (2025) and Jemison (2026).

More details will be released at a later date.

“Thank you to the high school principals and athletic directors for their cooperation in making this possible,” Griffin said.
