The Chilton County Board of Education has unanimously approved Marjorie Littleton to be the Isabella High School assistant principal.

“I am looking forward to new challenges and learning about being an administrator,” Littleton said. “I am looking forward to working for Mr. (Ricky) Porter. I have always looked up to him and enjoyed working with before.”

She said she was “very excited” about the opportunity.

Littleton will start in her new position on Jan. 6. She is currently a math and technology teacher at Jemison Middle School.

“I consider Isabella my home school, even though I am not from here,” Littleton said. “My husband is an Isabella graduate. All of my children are Isabella graduates.”

She has also taught at Isabella in the past.

Littleton has 14 years of experience in education. Prior to that, she worked for the Chilton County Department of Human Resources.

She has a bachelor’s degree in social work and a master’s degree in education. Littleton has also completed her certification in instructional leadership, which is a requirement to work as an assistant principal.

Also during the meeting, Roger J. Sheffield’s resignation as assistant principal of Clanton Intermediate. Other personnel resigning included custodian Ronnie Moates from Jemison Intermediate and teacher Bridgett Davis from Clanton Intermediate.

Leave requests were also approved for one principal, four teachers and one bus driver.
