People in Chilton County have another option when it comes to shopping for things like clothing, shoes and accessories.

H&M Boutique is open for business. The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting for the new business Nov. 19.

H&M Boutique is so named because of the two co-owners initials, Hannah Moore and Hailey Mims. The new store is located inside of Elite Salon at 205 Seventh St. S in Clanton.

“We were literally eating at San Marcos (in August) and decided right then we were going to open a boutique,” Moore said. “We started out on Facebook. It got so hectic that we had to open up something ASAP. We checked a few little places for lease, and then we thought why don’t we call some salons? We called (Elite Salon) and we were here two weeks later.”

H&M Boutique specializes in items for women, like clothing, shoes and accessories. There are also some items for children, and the duo hopes to add even more in the future.

“We are checking into adding some things for the guys after the first of the year,” Moore said. “We are hoping to expand a little bit.”

The boutique is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., from 2-6 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

H&M Boutique will also be open on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. but only in December during the Christmas shopping season.

“It feels amazing (to have the store open for business),” Moore said. “I love interacting with everybody and getting to meet new people.”

Both Moore and Mims thanked everyone for the support they have been shown while getting the business up and running.

“We love it. It’s a great environment. It’s fun,” Mims said.

“We are overwhelmed with the support,” Moore said. “It’s crazy. We want everyone to come shop here at H&M.”
