The holiday fundraisers continue at Raleigh’s Place with the nonprofit’s Christmas Whistle-stop event Nov. 15-16 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
“This is only our second year, but we would love for this to be an annual event,” Kyla King with Raleigh’s Place said. “Just something fun for us and for the community.”
More than 20 vendors are scheduled to be in attendance selling holiday-themed gifts and crafts.
“We are so excited for everything we are going to have,” King said. “We have lots of different kinds of booths, from homemade jewelry and crafts/paintings to Christmas decorations and beauty products. We will even have outdoor stuff for the guys in your life. Shop for yourself or your family.”
Soup and sandwich meals with chips and a drink included will be sold for $5. Because the event lasts throughout the day, dinner specials will also be available with proceeds going toward the organization.
With Christmas coming up around the corner, Santa Claus is scheduled to take some time away from planning in the North Pole to attend the event from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
All kids in attendance will have the chance to sit on Santa’s lap and be part of a free photo opportunity.
According to King, admission is free and all the festivities will be held inside so cold weather will not dampen the mood.
The event will be held at Raleigh’s Place at 346 County Road 1028 and off of Exit 208 in Clanton.
