Estates at Kendal hosts ribbon cutting

The Chilton County Chamber of Commerce and representatives from various associated organizations collected at the Estates at Kendal Sept. 20 for a ribbon cutting officially opening the new housing facility.
The complex features 56 new apartments varying in size from one bedroom to three.
The housing facility is located at 1807 Yellowleaf Road in Clanton just down from Winn-Dixie.
“We need to be able to house our citizens and workers in affordable, quality homes,” said Chamber President Billy Singleton, who spoke briefly about economic development during the ceremony. “We appreciate all the organizations that helped bring this beautiful facility to Clanton.”
Income qualifications for potential occupants range from $19K for one person to $31K for six people.
“This project is one of over 700 properties across Alabama representing over 38,000 units,” said David Young of the Alabama Housing Finance Authority.
Young said the different properties were designed to provide, quality, affordable housing.

According to the website, single bedroom apartments are $390 per month, two bedroom units are $455 a month and three bedroom apartments are $560 a month.
The deposit on each is one month’s rent, and the two- and three-bedroom units have two bathrooms.
Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
