The Clanton City Council voted unanimously to place Patrick Connell on the town’s utility board during its meeting on June 10.

Connell fills an opening on the board that was left after Jackie Baker, who held the seat prior, moved outside of the city limits and into the county.

It was a meeting that consisted mostly of new hires.

Other approved hires included Jay’Quan Cohen as part-time summer help at E.M. Henry Park.

Jordan Glenn and Paul Shearon were added as volunteer firefighters with the Clanton Fire Department.
