Jackson 20, OT
Chilton County 14
The Tigers led for most of the contest until Jackson tied it up at 14-all with a touchdown pass with about 48 seconds remaining in the game.
Jackson ended up winning the game in overtime.
Despite the loss, CCHS head coach Tal Morrison was proud of the effort that his team put forth.
“This senior class showed special leadership,” Morrison said. “They set the bar of what we expect.”
According to Morrison, the next step is building on the postseason experience and developing that as the standard of the program moving forward.
“We’re at the point where we compete in every game,” Morrison said. “The next step is figuring out how to win. Buying into the process has gotten us to this point.”
Devonte Robinson and ShiKeem Laister score the two CCHS touchdowns in the game on the ground, while C.J. Hunter kicked the extra points.
The Tigers gained 106 passing yards and 84 rushing yards on the night.
CCHS finished the season with a record of 4-7.
Marengo 58,
Isabella 20
The Mustangs wrapped up the 2018 season with a loss in the first round.
The defeat dropped Isabella to a record of 7-4, which was quite the feat after fighting through various injuries to key players throughout the season.
Elba 54,
Billingsley 19
Billingsley made great strides under first year head coach Marvin Morton and the end result was a trip to the postseason.
Although it ended with a loss to Elba, the Bears (5-6) have set the tone for next year and the future looks bright.
