A pop-up shop fundraiser is coming to the main lobby of St. Vincent’s Chilton in Clanton.
The shop will be at St. Vincent’s Chilton Oct. 15-16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and will be open to the public. Most major credit cards will be accepted.
Jessica Moore with Collective Goods, formerly known as Books Are Fun, will be running the event.
“Collective Goods is a fundraising company,” Moore said. “We travel across central Alabama doing pop-up shops. We have kids toys, electronics, things related to health and wellness, outdoor activities, kitchen gadgets and cookbooks, things like that.”
Moore said most of the shop’s items are 40 to 60 percent off retail price and are unique items that cannot be found elsewhere.
A portion of the sales will be donated back to the hospital’s volunteer auxiliary fund.
“It goes to help the hospital, and the amount depends on the sales,” Moore said.
According to the company’s website, “Over the past 25 years, Books Are Fun has given back more than half a billion dollars in books, products and cash. As Collective Goods, our drive to support public education, health care and causes important to your community is stronger than ever and remains at the forefront of who we are.”
Moore said Collective Goods has set up shop at St. Vincent’s before, more specifically last spring.
She said that the shop is convenient for patients and their visitors as well as hospital employees given the location of the setup.
St. Vincent’s Chilton is located at 2030 Lay Dam Rd.
