The Tigers went on the road and won for a second-straight week.

As the game wore on, the Tigers defense tightened up and began to play with more intensity and physicality.

CCHS trailed 14-7 at halftime, but opened up the second half with a scoring drive to tie the game at 14-all.

The game went back-and-forth, and the Tigers found themselves trailing late.

However, CCHS got the ball back with 3:30 remaining in the game and drove down the field to score the game-winning touchdown and two-point conversion.

Next week CCHS hosts county rival Jemison for homecoming.

 

Linden 38,

Maplesville 27

The Red Devils lost a tough battle on the road of two teams that could likely meet again in the playoffs.

Maplesville was outgained by 109 yards, with the major difference coming through the air.

Jackson Abbott threw for a pair of touchdowns, but completed only 4-of-19 passes for 36 yards on the night.

On the other side, Linden’s starting quarterback completed 9-of-17 passes for 251 yards and three scores.

Other than the passing game advantage, many of the statistical categories were fairly even among the teams, which included time of possession, offensive plays, first downs and turnovers.

The last time Maplesville lost to a region opponent was also was in 2009, 23-14 and also on the road at Linden.
