Erron and Amber Price were introduced as new lead pastors of Lomax Assembly of God on Aug. 5, 2018. While new to the position, Erron has previously served in many capacities within the church.

“My grandparents, Rev. Louie F. Robinette and Bobbie Ann Spruiell Robinette, came to Clanton, Alabama to pastor Lomax Assembly of God in August of 1977 and pastored for eight years,” he said. “I’ve been in this church my entire life. I received salvation and began walking with the Lord at a very young age and was involved in the children’s and youth ministry growing up. When I was a student in high school I began online Bible college at Global University. After graduation from Chilton County High School in 2006, I became our junior high pastor. In 2008, my wife and I became the youth pastors. We served in that position for about six years before accepting the position as associate pastor in 2014. At the beginning of 2018, we made some adjustment among our staff and I became our executive pastor. This role allowed me to take on more pastoral responsibility.”

Price hopes to carry on the vision of Lomax which is to “save the lost, disciple the saved and send the disciples.”

“We were blessed to have amazing leadership in our previous pastors, Jeff and Donna Calhoun, and we are who we are today because of their leadership,” he said. “We want to continue to follow the Biblical model as shepherds. We want to fill the responsibility of that role to lead our body of people and invest in them spiritually and guide them through every season of life.”

In addition to investing in his congregation, Price shares that Lomax is a missioned minded church.

“The Gospel tells us to go and make disciples. Our outreach is both local and abroad, and we support 28 missions around the world through our finances, mission trips, feeding the hungry and taking care of the homeless,” he explained. “We also just finished our local serve day at Jemison High School.”

Price shares he looks toward the future with the expectation and vision of moving forward in growth in every area.

“I feel great anticipation in my spirit of what’s to come,” he stated excitedly. “I feel that it’s so much bigger than us; it’s bigger than any one man or ministry or organization. It’s the collective body that’s believing together for a great cause. We have amazing ministers and volunteers that serve with us and beside us every single week.”

Price also gives thanks for the support of his wife.

“Each pastor’s wife has a unique role in the church. My wife is supportive on the home front, in prayer, and very social within our church,” he explained. “She is involved in multiple ministries including praise and worship, the children’s department and assisting with greeters. She has her hands in lot and continues to grow in this new season. She has also been an entrepreneur. She started Elite Salon but sold it four or five years ago to devote more time to our family and ministry. She is going to school to earn her instructor degree in cosmetology. She has a huge heart for people and those hurting and in need. She wants to be active and involved both inside and outside of the church.”

As Price begins his new role as lead pastor, he hopes to convey to the community that Lomax is a place of acceptance.

“We are a place that loves and accepts all people. Our slogan is, ‘You belong here,’” he said. “This is a safe place. Come as you are. You don’t have to perfect yourself. Our church family is open and welcoming to all cultures, races and nationalities. It’s a place of peace and unity.”
