A Clanton woman was struck and killed by a motorist in a single-vehicle crash at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 28, according to a release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

“Sandra Lynne Bollinger, 70, was struck by a 2011 Mercury Marquis while crossing the roadway,” the release stated. “The collision occurred on Alabama 22 near the intersection of Chilton County 228, close to the 59 mile marker, approximately six miles west of Clanton.”

Bollinger was pronounced dead by authorities at the scene. The driver of the Mercury remained at the scene.

Nothing further is available at this time as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
