People visiting Farm House Café in Thorsby the night of May 11 will be in for a special treat.

The local chapter of the F.A.I.T.H. Riders motorcycle club will be holding a Bike Night at the restaurant from 6:30 to 9 p.m.

People are invited to bring their classic cars and bikes, while everyone is welcome to come check out the vehicles.

The event was put together by Scott Guess, the events coordinator for the group. He is otherwise known as “Montana” because of the area code that pops up when he calls people’s phones.

“F.A.I.T.H. Riders is a national motorcycle ministry,” Guess said. “We do outreach to spread the gospel of Jesus. We are always doing our Father’s business. We approached the owner of Farm House with the idea.”

Guess said a Christian worship band will be performing at the restaurant that night. Members of the F.A.I.T.H. Riders will be passing out water and “sharing the gospel as God leads us with people in the crowd.”

While the club members will be handing out water, food will be available for purchase from the restaurant.

According to the organization’s website, F.A.I.T.H. Stands for forgiveness, available, impossible, turn and heaven.

“F is for forgiveness. We cannot have eternal life and heaven without God’s forgiveness,” the main page of the website reads. “A is for available. Forgiveness is available for all, but it is not automatic. I is for impossible. It is impossible for God to allow sin into heaven. It is also impossible to please God through our own actions. T is for turn. Turn means to repent from sin and self to Christ only. H is for heaven. Heaven is eternal life, here and now and in the hereafter — but only through Christ. Forsaking all, I trust Him!”

The local F.A.I.T.H. Riders chapter is associated with Mineral Springs Baptist Church and is comprised of people from Chilton County.

“Everyone in the group is local,” Guess said. “Groups from other areas do support each other.”

Guess said the group is planning on doing a Bike Night once a month at alternating locations.

“Next month, we will be at O’Reilly [Auto Parts] in Jemison, then the next month we will come back to Farm House,” he said. “That’s our goal.”

Guess said that the local F.A.I.T.H. Riders chapter would also like to hold a “church in the park” event in Thorsby, but that is still in the planning stages.
“We want to reach out to our neighbors in our own backyard,” he said.

As far as holding the Bike Night goes, Guess said it makes him feel “wonderful that we can share God’s word with our community. It’s a blessing.”
