A single-vehicle accident just outside of Clanton resulted in the death of a Talledega resident on April 16.

Philip Ray Jenkins, 63, was killed when his vehicle left the road and overturned, according to Alabama State Troopers.

The crash occurred at 10:43 p.m. on Alabama Highway 22 near mile marker 63.

“Jenkins, who was not using a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead a short time later at St. Vincent’s Medical Center,” according to the press release.

No further details are available as the case remains under investigation.
