Annie Merle Wallace Porter

God blessed us with the life of Annie Merle Wallace Porter.  Annie Merle was born to parents Jasper and Dollie Mae Wallace on July 10, 1941, in Bibb County and died on Sunday, March 25, 2018.  As a young girl, Annie Merle and family moved to Jemison where she lived the rest of her life. Annie Merle married George Thurman Porter in 1960 and celebrated 51 years of marriage together until his death in 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Ishmael Wallace and Allen Wallace and her sister Marie Collins.

Annie Merle leaves behind her four children:  Shelia (Wade) Ray, Pam Porter, Anthony (Kandye) Porter and Cassandra (Bryan) Edge. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, which were her greatest pride and joy in life; Blake Raines, Summer Raines, Trevor Porter, Kelsey Porter, Heath Edge and Allison Edge. She also leaves behind a host of friends within the community and within her beloved church, Thompson Chapel Assembly of God. We are comforted and at peace knowing that our cherished mother and grandmother has entered into her forever home with her Lord and Savior and has been joyfully reunited with those that have gone before her.

Visitation will be Monday, March 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Tuesday, March 27, at 11 a.m. at Midway Memorial Garden, Rev. Mark Bolton is officiating.
