Nineteen-year-old Jadakiss Thomas of Montgomery was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Alabama Highway 22 on March 8.
The accident took place six miles west of Clanton at the 58 mile marker, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
“Thomas, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene,” Sgt. Steve Jarrett of ALEA informed.
Thomas’ three passengers suffered injuries and were transported to area hospitals, according to ALEA.
The accident occurred at approximately 5:50 a.m. when a 2003 Dodge Ram collided with the 1998 Toyota Camry that Thomas was driving.
“The driver and sole occupant of the Dodge Ram was wearing a seat belt and was not injured,” according to Jarrett.
ALEA urges vehicle occupants to fasten their seat belts.
“Plain and simple,” Jarrett said, “I see it first-hand daily: seat belts save lives.”
No further details regarding the accident are available as Alabama State Troopers continue their investigation.
