Harold McNeal Hayes

Harold McNeal Hayes, 84, of Thorsby died Friday, Jan. 19 at St. Vincent’s, Birmingham.

He was born on Thursday, Nov. 23, 1933 in Chilton County, son of the late J.D. Hayes and the late Emily Alene Rasberry Hayes.

He was a steel fitter.

Surviving are his wife, Peggy G. Hayes of Thorsby; son, Richard (Candy) Hayes of Thorsby; daughter, Myra (David) Moreland of Ft. Payne; brothers, Doug (Nell) Hayes of Thorsby and David (Ann) Hayes of Thorsby; sister-in-law, Marie Hayes of Dothan; grandchildren, Reed Youngblood, Jared Youngblood, Nathan (Sabrina) Hayes, Nolan Hayes, Josh Moreland, and Kayla Moreland; and great-grandchild, Ava Kate Hayes.

He was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Alene Hayes, and brother, Bill Hayes.

Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Monday, Jan. 22 at Fellowship Hall Macedonia Baptist Church.

Services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. David Bishop, Rev. Zach Bates, Rev. Danny Rasberry officiating.

Interment will follow in Macedonia Baptist Cemetery, Maplesville.
