Tom Higgins

Tom Higgins was born in Clanton on May 9, 1929. He passed away Wednesday, Jan. 10.

His is survived by his four sons, Tom Higgins Jr. and his wife Bonnie, Neal Higgins, John Higgins and his wife Melanie, and Mark Higgins and his wife Pam, as well as eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy, and his wife, Eloise.

After he served in the Air Force in the Korean War, Tom worked for 36 years at Capitol Chevrolet as a salesman and manager. He became owner/founder of Capitol Car and Truck Leasing, Inc. for 26 years. He was a long time member of Asbury United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Tom coached for several decades in youth recreational leagues. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The American Cancer Society.

A visitation at White Chapel Funeral Home is set for Tuesday, Jan. 16 at 10 a.m. with a graveside in Greenwood Serenity to follow at 11 a.m.
