The Chilton County Commission has moved its work session and commission meeting scheduled for Jan. 8 to Jan. 9 at 5 p.m.
The minute Alabama defeated Clemson 24-6 in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day and punched its ticket to the National Championship, Chilton County commissioners were faced with an interesting dilemma.
As a result, the Crimson Tide would have been playing in the National Championship game on Jan. 8 at the same time the commission would have been meeting.
Aware of the conflicting events, the commission made the decision to move the work session and meeting back one day.
With the change, it allows residents who are Alabama fans to enjoy the game and not interfere with plans they may have had on attending the commission work session and meeting.
The decision shows that the commissioners are aware of the importance of such a game and what it means for so many people in Chilton County.
It is something that the commission is quite familiar with, as it will be the third straight championship game that Alabama has been apart of.
