The renowned, vocal ensemble Voices of Mobile is coming to lead worship at Jemison First Baptist Church on Jan. 14 at 6 p.m.

The group will present a “mix” of music styles in its worship, offering “something for everyone,” according to Jerome Key, administrator of music at Jemison First Baptist Church.

The 18-member, collegiate group is making its way back home to the University of Mobile, and believes it a nice opportunity to share its music with Chilton residents.

“They’ve sung – gosh, where have they not sung?” Key said. “They performed at the Brooklyn Tabernacle, they sang for First Baptist Atlanta. I’ll bet they’ve been everywhere.”

According to the university’s website, Voices of Mobile has performed for a wide variety of audiences across the world, including Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, the Cayman Islands, Israel, the White House and Carnegie Hall in New York. Special audience members have included former president George W. Bush, Dr. Ben Carson, Condoleezza Rice and Tim Tebow.

“To me, they are more than singers,” Voices of Mobile producer Dr. Roger Breland is quoted on the website, “they are people that love God, representing their university and their faith. You will love the Voices of Mobile … I love their hearts.”

Admission to the worship service at Jemison First Baptist Church is free. A love offering will be collected for the student group, according to Key.

Jemison First Baptist Church is located at 24348 U.S. Highway 31 in Jemison.
