Anticipation is mounting for the 2018 Chilton County Chamber of Commerce banquet.

Tickets are already on sale for the Jan. 26 event, which will be held in the Clanton Conference and Performing Arts Center on the Chilton/Clanton campus of Jefferson State Community College.

Christina Wilkins of the Chamber said she looks forward to seeing everyone, “and being able to give back to our members.”

Some members will be recognized in a special way through the Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards.

A Community Spirit and a Business of the year will be awarded. Wilkins said the Chamber board members nominate people and businesses for the awards and then makes a decision.

Wilkins said the group looks for “a local business that is giving back, very involved with the community.”

A similar focus is used in determining who will be honored with the Community Spirit Award.

Back by popular demand, Cotton Bird will be performing during the meal.

“Everyone loved them,” Wilkins said. “They are great.”

Incoming President Brad Carter will also be instated at the banquet.

Tickets are $25, and can be purchased at the Chamber or from any board member.  Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with awards being announced at 6:30 p.m. Attire for the event should be semi-formal.

A short business meeting is also held during the event to give members an overview of the past year for the Chamber.
